Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)

Oxy's LNG entity includes the proposed Ingleside Energy Center (IEC) and San Patricio Pipeline.

Ingleside Energy Center, located near Corpus Christi, Texas, is a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) receiving terminal under development by Occidental Energy Ventures Corp., a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum Corporation. IEC is expected to provide an efficient facility for processing LNG for delivery to natural gas markets. The center is designed to import LNG into a new, technically advanced facility adjacent to OxyChem's existing plant near Ingleside, Texas.

IEC's main component will be the LNG receiving terminal with a new docking facility.

Project details include:

  • 1 billion cubic feet per day send-out capacity
  • Docking facility and new slip
  • Two 160,000-cubic-meter storage tanks
  • Ethane and LPG recovery facilities

San Patricio Pipeline, currently under development, is designed to transport up to 1 billion standard cubic feet of natural gas from Ingleside Energy Center LNG Import Terminal in Ingleside, Texas. Natural gas will be delivered to interstate and intrastate pipelines, reaching markets across the U.S. and into Mexico.
