CO2 Source Fields and Facilities

Oxy is the world's largest user of carbon dioxide (CO₂) for enhanced oil recovery (EOR), a technique used to increase production from mature wells.

At Oxy's source fields and facilities in the U.S., CO₂ is processed and transported from the Permian Basin of southwest Texas and southeast New Mexico, for use in Oxy's EOR program. The company's largest CO₂ operations are located in Bravo Dome, New Mexico, with smaller operations at Sheep Mountain in Colorado.
