CO2 Source Fields and Facilities

Oxy is the world's largest user of carbon dioxide (CO2) for enhanced oil recovery (EOR), a technique used to increase production from mature wells.

At Oxy's source fields and facilities in the U.S., CO2 is processed and transported from the Permian Basin of southwest Texas and southeast New Mexico, for use in Oxy's EOR program. The company's largest CO2 operations are located in Bravo Dome, New Mexico, with smaller operations at Sheep Mountain in Colorado.
